i have a question for you guys running the gt35r or if you know anything about them what would you use for tuning? is it something you can do fairly easy by yourself or should it be done by the professionals

I have a Masterpower T-70 which is ~equivalent to a GT35R, I run MAFTPRO for tuning using an AEM UEGO wideband. I have seen a 1jz mk3 with a DBB GT35R running just an SAFCII. Tuning isnt extremely difficult, but if you dont know how to tune or havent done it before then its best to just leave to a professional. You can tune your car for any setup using any kind of engine management you want, obviously though some systems are alot better for handling different applications.

My recommendations would be either MAFTPRO, MAPECU2, or a standalone system such as AEM EMS or even Stinger.

turbo swap doesn't require a retune...

You tune because of the fuel mods you need to run the boost the new turbo will allow you to run...

I disagree. all boost is not created equal. If I tried to run my GT40 on stock tuning at 15psi, I would be severely lacking in fuel. However, my stock twins on my GT40 tuning, would probably be way too advanced timing wise in the lower boost maps.

Wrong, as the engine is not tuned by PSI, but the airflow sensed from the AFM.

Hence why larger more efficent turboes will have fuel cut at a lower PSI.

If you switch over to a MAP standalone you dont have to worry about dumping to atmosphere you can even drive your car with your turbo plumbing disconnected.

MAF & OBDII sucks for tunning add in vvti vvtli things get way more complexe
A simple stinger standalone should be the way to go I think DM is making them for 7M setups now.

He said 15 psi on his GT isn't the same, not all boost is equal. You said You tune because of the fuel mods you need to run the boost the new turbo will allow you to run...

Lex/550 didn't come up. I will let this one go...
