Question after 5 speed swap?

today i just finished with the r154 swap and while i test driving it, i notice that my turn signals dont work at all either outside or in the dash but the lights are on, on the outside but they dont blink.
Tomorrow i will start checking it, but i wanted to ask if anyone has had the same issue or has some sort of idea where to start looking to narrow ot down to the cause of the problem.
Another issue is that my speedometer is not working either.

Both of this problem were noexistent before i did the swap. the only wiring work i did was to bypass the neutral start swicth and hooking up the backlights to the reverse sensor on the r154.

FreeMoney...... Check your turn signal flasher first. If you did the swap you also installed a clutch pedal, as tight as it is down there chances are you may have bumped it lose^^

That's about the only thing that makes sense. I did a manual swap with my 2JZ, and I'm sitting here thinking about the first post and I'm like... :aigo: What doesn't the trans have to do with the signals? lol Good luck, dude!

remove the stereo trim from the center console/dash area.....you forgot to plug in the emergency flasher button....if you don't plug that in your signals don't work.

because you have to remove the stereo trim to remove the shifter.....and to remove that you have to pull the wire clip from behind too the hazard lights button....if you dont plug that back in the signals simply will not turn on at all....i made the same mistake installing a new head unit....for like 20 min im all wtf and cursing that i blew something then it just dawned on me to check it.

well, while the car was in my friends shop i was able to have a homer simpson moment and the turn signals were not working working because of the emergency hazard lights. i forgot to put the the console cover that had the emergency hazard lights and until i put it back, then the turn signals worked.

but another issued i have not figure out is the speedometer gauge is still not working. what i did on the swap was that i changed the speed sensor on the driver side of the tranny and then put in the spedoo cable on the passenger side but i dont remember how it was in position before i removed the tranny from the parts car.

Is there a way to check why the speedo isn't working, could it be the speed sensor?
Any help would be appreciated, plus i think it would be nice to be able to see what speed i am going.

:kickinthenuts: this is how i feel sometimes with all the work i put in my supra, only to have constant problems. i know my car is a 21 year old car but still, if its not one thing it;s always another thing that pops up. But when i drive it, it more than makes up for the down time that the car has.

Ok so I "completed" an auto to manual swap but I am unable to get the reverse lights to work. There is the plug from the tranny but I have no where to plug it into. The auto had a leg of the harness that went down to the tranny but I swapped the harnesses as well and this one does not have a section going down to the tranny. Where does the plug from the tranny need to go? Not to hijack your thread but I saw the reverse lights mentioned so I thought I would ask.

yeah the reverse lights have to be cut and spliced, theres a couple threads around here explaining the process and what color wires and all that, its not hard.

to get the reverse lights to work you have to:

1 get the reverse sensor on the r154 it has 2 wires one is red and the other wire is yellow, u have to extend this wires so that they reach the plugs that were connected to tranny plugs that are by the starter.

2 you have to bypass the neutral start swicth on ur car, first to be able to start the car. the plug thats needed is the one that has 3 wires, black, white and blue on the tranny sideof the plug. to bypass it, join the black and white wires together with a solderless connector.

3a the 2 wires from the reverse lights sensor that have being extended need to be spliced into 2 different plugs. the 2 plugs are the nuetral start swicth plug and the gear indicator(the plug that has the 6 wires) there is only one plug that has this many wires in the plug.

3bthe plug that has the three wires is the neutral start swicth and u already bypass this sensor, the third wire which is the blue one needs to be hooked up to the red cable from the reverse sensor and on the speed indicator plug, u only need one wire and that is the yellow wire. this yellow wire gets spliced into the yellow wire from the reverse sensor.

this is all that is needed to have working reverse lights.

there is one more step that u can do if u want to press the clucth pedal to start the car like factory.
I didn't do this step beacuse i wanted to be able to start the car without having to press the clutch pedal. Some people like this, some don't.
