Question about the MAF

hey, I've been noticing some pictures of other peoples MAF setups and there is a honeycomb grill inside alot of them and mine doesn't have this.... as far as I know its a stock setup and runs fine but is that something that I should have in mine???

It does two things. First, the in the unlikely event of a small rock coming through the airfilter, or you run with out it, the KV electronics have a better chance of survival.

The other part, is that the screens straighten turbulent air.

The 7M turbo does not use a MAF. MAF= mass air flow sensor, ours is a volume airflow senor.

hmmm... well I guess I'll have to pick up a used one, how much do you think its affecting my performance without it?

not enough to notice. dont bother buying a whole new housing for the grill. its a nice thing to have but if your sticking to a mainly stock setup its not a big deal.
