For those of you who are running them or have run them in the past, do you prefer the cylindrical/tubular style, or the flattened oval (looks like most mufflers) style like the Supra came with stock? I'm not concerned about looks or finish or any of that silliness, just want one which does a good job of reducing drone.

I'm going to be running a hi-flow cat and good quality muffler with it. TIA.

Those are mainly the flattened oval styles, correct? That shape would seem to me to be more effective overall than the round style due to greater internal volume. Everyone feel free to correct that assessment if it's wrong.

In general, the bigger straight-through mufflers are quiter. I also suggest running 2 mufflers. Have a look at a photo of a Tanabe Hyper Medallion exhaust and you can see it has two good sized mufflers. I had a 13" long Vibrant 3" muffler added to my exhaust right near the differential, and an Apexi N1 at the back. With 2 mufflers and a cat, my car has a great tone and with very little drone.

Appreciate all the ideas and suggestions guys. I'll check with BIC and a couple of other places just to cover the bases, and I'll post the results up here when it's all put together.
