Question about Rear control arm issue.

Yeah I have ES bushings for the rear and they will work for the stock control arm but because of the heim joint design vs. the oem spherical design they will not fit Wes's control arms.

Is there anything wrong with going with the oem control arm. Are they weak in design. it seems that people mainly change the traction arms. I have poly bushing for it just can't use them with Wes's heim joints.

Now I'm kind of confused. I had a new set of OEM control arms installed with the ES bushings, the arms are now in a box on the shelf. I took those off and put on the Beech arms:

The bushing goes in the hub and the U shaped end goes around-over it and bolts up.

It's like a heim joint, but sealed with grease and rubber like a ball joint. Heim joints are usually open meaning they get dirt in them and wear out quickly (hence why they suck for a road car).

Well that makes since to me. Some of this stuff is fairly new to me but I have been learning a lot within the 2 years that I've owned it. I will talk to Wes about it. I'm sure he can make it happen for me.

Same helm joint at the sub frame, ES bushing at the hub.

I think Wes was trying to source a different poly bushing to replace the helm joints but couldn't find any that would work with the arms.

I believe that the end could be modified to match the exact same size spherical shape as the oem arms and you could just use ES ploy control arm traction arm replacement bushings.

So are you saying that you do not have any movement to the arm. Do you still have the same oem knuckle bushing?

I'll double check for any movement on Monday-car is still in the shop.

Once again you're right Poo, sorry for the miss info lefty. Thought that John had replaced those when the ES bushings were installed. After this conversation I checked an old invoice and realized they had been replaced with new OEM bushings when I had the new OEM arms installed.
