question about new wheels and big brakes

I'm currently running 16" rims, and I'll be upgrading in the very near future. I'm going to go at least 17, or very likely 18, with at least a 7.5 inch width.

Once I get the new wheels, I plan on upgrading the brakes as well. I already have two calipers that a friend got off a T-100 (4 piston, fixed with a BIG pad area), which i plan on using in the front. Got them for a steal.

In the back I want to use either mk4 or 300zx TT calipers.

I've been going over tire and wheel information for about the last two hours, and I've got some good info, but still curious about a few things... I'm worried if the calipers in the front will fit the various sizes of wheels out there and unfortunately, I don't really have any way of measuring ahead of time when buying the wheels.

The T100 calipers came off a truck that had 215/75r15 tires stock. I figure that if the stock wheels were something like 6 or 6.5" wide, that if I have a 7.5" or 8" wheel, the wheel should be wide enough to fit these calipers, And i have a good feeling that 17" diameter should be sufficient as well.

I have no idea however if 7.5 inches would be a sufficient depth for TT rear calipers. They're pretty small overall, so I'm thinking it shouldn't be too big a deal.

Can anyone with experience/knowledge in this area tell me if this is correct? Any advice? Thanks in advance.

are cars will fit 9in front and 10 in rear easy why the 6.5 in tires even come to your mind?

stock is 7 in all around.

doward has a kit for 13in cobra brakes with 2 pot calipers(stock is 1) which is a huge improvement over stock.(stock is like 11.xx)

18 in rims will support any aftermarket brake upgrade system.

The only reason i was even considering the 7.5's is I found a set of rims I really like that were that width, but in the end I probably won't be going with those.

Hvyman - I was never considering going with 6.5's. You must have read me wrong... And I know about the Doward kit, but those are floating calipers, and I don't want that.

Also I'm mainly worried about the width being wide enough to clear the brakes without having to use wheel spacers or anything like that. That's my biggest concern here.

Measure the wheels off the T-100 and see the inside diameter of the wheel and the spoke depth so you can compare it to the new wheels and see if they will clear.
