Yep. The stock regulator is NOT adjustable. You have to drill out the orifice in the J-tube with a higher flowing pump or you will have high fuel pressure and probably run very rich. An adjustable fuel pressure regulator will bypass the J-tube.
It all depends on your other mods. Turbo size, exhaust,and larger intercooler piping plays a big role. You might be able to run 15 psi on a stock turbo(not that you'd want to) with stock IC piping/exhaust but once you upgrade those you could only be able to run 12 psi.
Will larger injectors and a piggyback you can usually run a little more boost depending on how much fuel you have to pull.
