Hi all,
Have a friend of mine that has a reman ECU for his 87 and it just shit the bed. Got another friend of mine's turbo 88 ECU and nothing matches... Obviously design differences between the two... Was wondering though if this would be a non-turbo ECU then.... The plugs are 4, 3 one right after another, and one on a series of wires coming out of the case. All plugs are neon yellow in color.

What month in 88?

FYI - late 88 was classified as a 89+, Different ECU Plugs, Look up pin outs for both and you'll see what I mean.

Take some pictures so we can see what you're talking about.

For Pre-89 ECU's, there are yellow ECU connectors, 89+ are grey and of a differing style.

Pre-89 Turbo ECU's have 4 connectors, 3 on the ECU (24P, 18P and 10P) with one extra pigtail (6P) sticking out of it.
Pre-89 N/A ECU's have 3 connectors, all on the ECU (24P, 18P and 10P).

They are not interchangeable. It sounds like you're trying to use the wrong one.

Ya sounds like wrong ecu for the harness.

Never heard of someone getting a rebuild on a 7m ecu either before.

So does the 89 up turbo computer only have 3 plugs? cause that is how both of the ecus I have are. And they are turbo computers, grey connectors.

Guessing they got rid of the extra connector in 89+.
