Hi guys,
I have a blown head gasket, was told the head gasket was replaced once already. Maybe was maybe wasn't. I have read in this forum that if I would like to use a MHG I need to machine the block as well as the head. Can the block be machined with out being disassembled? Or if I use the OEM head gasket will I end up just having to do it again? the car only has 100000 miles on it. I would prefer to not have to rebuild the whole engine just to do the head gasket. Do they make different thicknesses of OEM head gaskets?

Done correctly it'll be fine

Yes many different ones to allow for machine work to maintain the correct squish

Thank you for the answers. Do you have any tips for doing it correctly? Im planning on using ARP head bolts is there anything else i should be doing or using to ensure a job well done? Also I have read different torque specs on the head bolts. What torque do you recommend?

Sorry to tell you, but as a newbie here myself I have been doing some searching, and have found many threads with more than enough info you will need......seriously it would take you days to read them all haha Trust me almost anything you can ask about a bhg can be awnsered by searching, plus you dont have to wait for a response.

Depends on which path you choose.
