Well its not a supra, This is for my friends teggy. I thought this might be an all around question for anyone that knows much about this. His tranny lost 3rd gear so he picked up a Type-R for a few hundred and it only had 1000 miles on it. Well we got everything back in last night all set up ready to go (ITS MANUAL) We push the clutch, start it up.. but the car tranny wont go into any gears and drive. Even in reverse the reverse lights wont come on so its not going in.

We DID NOT bleed the clutch lines yet and on my supra when I rebuild, I didnt need to, so is this a necessary process we overlooked? His clutch is hardly over a year old also. The car starts so I thought everything was ok, is it possible to get enough clutch in to start but not enough to get any gears in??

ALSO When the cars off, we should be able to put it in first right? We cant do that either, put it in first, start the car and its still acting in neutral... Im at a loss.

Did you make sure to hook up both rods that go to backside of the tranny correctly. I'm a former 94' GSR owner. Bout the only think that I can think of.

There's that too. I would say maybe the slave cylinder. But, if you can't even get it into gear when the car is off, sounds like a bad tranny.

Well he has a brand new slave cyl we didnt put on yet.. I guess well try it. Also the hard line going to it had a bracket that had 2 bolts that held it down for safety we left off... wonder if that has ANYTHING to do with it.

A real type R tranny for a few hundred bucks with barely any miles

yeah...

that must be in perfect condition :nono:

Think about it.

Why would someone part out an ITR that has 1000 miles on it?
