Kills Switches work.

However, I with a passion do not want anyone inside the car or jacking up my car........

I'm in the midst of doing some stuff to prevent anyone from getting inside. (even myself if the battery dies...lol)

Anyone have an idea of preventing this car from being jacked up (with a jack)?

Exploding booby trap.:biglaugh:

Non running cars are being stolen, if someone wants it/needs it for parts they'll just winch it onto a truck and take it.....

Correct.. if they want it.. you have to keep them from taking it.. now just a kill switch hiden under dash aint gona cut it.. Myself if you dont want it stolen then you have to make it noisy as hell and no way to shut off.... as in small backup battery... merc switch or something like it .. relay that wont shut off once its activated... so even tho they pop hood cut battery in 2.5 sec... its still going off

No matter what you do, if someone wants it, they will get it.

My car was in a secure, underground carpark (key to get in + cameras), then down there it was in my own personal lock up garage that was bolted shut - the thieves still got in and stole it.

You can try deterrants, but more often than not, they won't do shit.

LMAo you guys are funny with ur lil kill switchs, alarams, mercurybombs ect....all of thoses are USELESS it's called a towtruck .....GONE in a blink of an eye [ur average retarded theive wont have a tow truck] "this is where killswitch and alarms come in handy"

Trying to trace ur Stuff after its been stolen...theres room for action there......i just hope i get the chance to catch the theive in action he/she/they/ will have the fight of there lives lol

In the end ppl just keep a low profile if ur one of thoses gotta have a flashy car you better invest in some 24hr security or DogS------>Very HElpful

Ok to make myself a little clearer.. i took a random picture of a turbocharger off google images... if you look at it.. it looks just like any other turbo that could be on your car mine or who evers...so lets say you take decent pictures of your mods... hell you want to brag about what you have thats the point of fourms talk learn and show off.. besides even if the crooks are not tracking us down threw fourms they can follow you home from a car show or what ever.. my point is.. take pictures of all your stuff good ones.. every man made peace of what ever has its own little fingerprint.. that can later be identifyed.. if there is a data base online that everyone can look at then everyone can join in the hunt for stolen part... ok first picture everyday garret.... lets say this is on joe blows car.. and its stolen and he has this picture on sm database... along with other pictures..

p1386390_1.jpg

ok so a month goes buy someone sees a garret on ebay or cragslist... they look at pictures and then search sm database.. and notice there is a few things that look very simular and that no other garret will have like these little blemishes...
remmber every sand mold is diferant.. no 2 are the same..

ok now look at the little things i have circled..

p1386390_2.jpg

this turbo is uniqe but the just the same as thousands of others.. but it has its own little things no other has...
so thats all im trying to say... this way we could ALL combat and hunt down the stolen parts...

Its just a idea... only trying to help ALL OF US.. so dont flame me.. :}

I'm not trying to flame, your idea is excellent.

I just think it would be more work than it's worth.

the only way to stop thieves is to implement the Islamic legal system.

If one steals, they cut his hand off.

If one rapes, they cut his you know what off.

guess what? It works, people simply don't steal shit.

In the event that it does, their punishment is held in the middle of the city for everyone to see. they make an example out of the criminals there.

This way, potential criminals will be scared shitless and will think twice or ten times before they commit the crime.

The legal system here is a joke, they just give the bastard a slap on the wrist and tell him not to do it again.

the victim doesn't get justice, he/she just gets screwed out of his/her hard earned belongings.

In most Arabic countries, people leave their stores unattended and open and go to prayer.

some people think this is harsh or barbaric, but this is the ONLY real solution to this type of crime.

Airbags, when you park it let the air out of the system and have it sit on the frame rails. A little radical but they'll have a hell of a time getting it onto a flat bed or jacking it up to steal the rims. Airbag suspensions these days actually handle pretty good too.

Ok, I've just deleted all the off-topic B.S. - let's keep the comedy in off-topic where it belongs folks...

We now return to your regularly scheduled programming.

Actually I think we already do the most effective thing possible, we have the stolen Supras section here on SM, we force every user to read the threads. We're the single largest MKIII community out there. This makes it much harder for a thief to dispose of one of these cars as the majority of MKIII enthusiasts will see the stolen car post.

The only problem is that we've got a few scumbags in this community who are thieves, and would buy your stolen car/turbo/parts without blinking an eye.

The best thing to do is to refuse to do business with them and make owning a Supra unpleasant for them. Hopefully they'll move onto something else.

In the end, a dedicated thief will get your car. You can just make it so difficult that it is "not worth it" for them.

This is an excellent Idea, I wonder how much that would cost....

Actually in all honesty I forgot my number one best purchase for my car in an awful long time.

LoJack, get it, it works, and it works well. I'm not meaning to be an ad for them or anything, but do some research and you'll see it's not a bad plan at all.

Lojack is great if they're trying to steal the entire car, but if they're trying to steal crap out of it or take the rims it unfortunately wont help.

Looks like 900 and upwards new, so around the same range as coilovers.
