Not sure if i put this in the correct sport or not, but a friend just bought a Sc300 equipped with a JDM 2jz. He has a few question about it
1. what is the oem map sensor rated at (psi)
2. even though it is already map based, can he install a VPC to higher the map sensor?
3. Is there any programs that let you tune the stock ecu? smiliar to ls1edit, hondata, ecugrid and etc.
4. I know the usdm 2jzgte ecu's can make in the 700+ hp range with a vpc/gcc or afc. Is the jdm version close to the same timing wise and etc?
5. Does the AEM EMS designed for the USDM Supra plug into the JDM harness?

Right now he doesn't plan on going with a AEM or any other complete EMS till he recooperate some of his money with parting out his sfwd civic. That's why he is wondering about the piggy backs

1. ~ 17-18 psi it maxes out. Stock Fuel cut is ~ 15 psi though
2. No you can not use a VPC. They're specifically tuned for each car and there is no ROM for a JDM ecu.
3. No there isn't
4. JDM is probably similar to the USDM ecu in the timing area. It hasn't been tried, but it can probably work the same as the usmd ecu. Over 600hp (680cc injectors) I'd strongly consider a Stand alone though.
5. Yes itll plug right in.

I vote Tissimo for JZ Engines guru. I personally learned a lot from you. If I didn't take your advice my 1J prolly blown by now. :biglaugh:
