Is this definitely turbo oil seals? All the piping was oil coated, as were the exhaust and intake manifolds. The spark plugs were swimming in oil when I removed them, and the whole outside of the motor is oil coated. The inlet wheel has no play at all, spins well. The outlet has a bit of play, but spins well. Neither touch the walls. And both were bone dry. A friend will sell me his low mileage rebuilt ct26 so he can finally put on his t4, but do I definitely need to replace mine? Motor is out, and hoping to get it back in by the end of the week, don't wanna wait till next week for the other turbo(hes moving and needs to drive the car there). Don't want to put mine on and then replace the turbo in the car either. Hes giving me a decent deal, and I assume it's the turbo as does he, but just want some other opinions. If I don't need to replace it, that much closer to paint and new rims :-D The car NEVER smoked, and it spooled just fine, even with RK and a BHG it reached about 7-8 lbs.

Engine is in tons of pieces all over my garage :-X But when I say everything is oil coated.. I mean everything, minus the inlet and outlet on the turbo.. haha. Since the coolant was pumping oil around as well, it certainly made things even worse. Anyway to really know if the seals are bad? Or is it just, on the car, if I am getting oil in the IC with the fresh engine, theres a problem with the turbo? The old engine was severely screwed up. The guy used clear silicone to seal the oil pan, and it was all inside the bottom end. The oil pump screen had big metal chunks attached to it. I hope I can get enough torque on the crank pulley bolt today, I want to get it the rest of the way apart to see how damaged the crank, and everything is.
