you're missing the point, it's the point that they don't use them on production vehicles because it would NEVER pass their durability tests...

Not to mention how many people would be annoyed at having to get under the car to replace their air filter...

takes an hour to change my stock filter, because you have to remove the tire, splash guard and get to the filter up inside the fenderwell. a cai is actually easier to clean than the stock, because you can remove the driver's side headlight and remove the filter that way

or not.

Platinum

Coppers wears too quickly, hence why they came with platinums from the factory.

I don't have a FFIM so changing plugs isn't the most fun thing to do.

Iridiums have been known to glowplug on boosted engines, yet they push them for that market...

depends on what you want- copper has the max heat transfer, no question. i do agree on longevity....then again, i change plugs in the spring and mid-summer....and my car sees all of 1k mile/yr.

i totally agree on the iridium thing....NOT the best choice for forced induction.

I know this is an old topic but i have been really interested to see if this product is really worth anything. I finally got a copy of the March issue of Dsport magazine and they just happened to be doing a test on the Pulsar Plug. I don't have a scanner to copy the entire article but here is a link to a part of the article. http://www.dragsport.com/issue/2008/0308_tech.shtml They have a few dyno graphs from 3 different cars.

VQ35-G35 Before 233.95 WHP After 239.15 WHP
Evo IX Before 276.50 WHP After 282.20 WHP
Acura Type-R Before 158.70 After 161.06 WHP

They changed the oil and changed the plugs before the baseline Dyno runs. I am usually not one to 100% believe what magazines say but for now these are the only numbers and dyno graphs I have seen.

Any different opinions or feelings about the product?

out of those vehicles, it looks like the only forced induction car, actually lost power

could it have possibly not been gapped properly? or wonder if it just sucks for turbo/sc cars?

Pulstar is actually located in my town (or they've got an office here) hell if I know. Either way, I've had several friends back to back dyno them, and I've seen them make more power.

Now, all they're doing is increasing power output through the use of capacitance. They are similar to DirectHits except that these are a full plug replacement whereas directhits sit on top of the plug.

HOWEVER, Here's what I've been able to figure out. They do seem to make more power in an immediate swap (If you'd like I can post dyno's from an SRT4) but since they're increasing detonation, I believe any recent ECU (including our own) will tune out the detonation and thus remove their power gain overtime through the use of knock sensor readings. So, in the short term, I've seen them more power (sub-15hp/tq IIRC). I have serious doubts that the power will stay in the long run however.

with that said... how many runs is very important. on hp tv today they were showing royal purple compared to normal oil, the RP actually had a gain too and a pretty good one. the guy on tv said that the more times you cycle it on the dyno, the more gains it gets.

now i'm wondering if the oil change right before baseline, was because they knew the oil would work a bit better for the later runs?

RP works great for the dyno... But it's got a crappy addative package and won't protect as well.

I'm sorry, but that SMALL amount og HP is not worth my engine.

About these sparkplugs, yet again, it's HP/$ ratio is garbage. Up the damn boost 2PSI and see more gains than that.

Not worth it.
