pulse tig differences?

I recall reading in an AWS welding journal something about pulsed welding resulting in cleaner, more uniform welds...

however, I am too lazy to go dig though our library to find that magazine...

weird then that it would be cheaper, unless this is limited by its DC-only build.

Thats the way to go. They break the bank in the beginning but they pay for themselves in the end.

Thermal Arc AC/DC square wave with pulse, slope and adjustable freq here. Pulse allows the weld pool to cool during the background current. Good for thin metal and out of position (think vertical or overhead ) work...
