Pulling codes off Super monitor

I don't have my factory repair manual so whats the procedure for looking up codes?

Alot of times mine just says error. Its easier to short out the test blocks per the tsrm

Update to my last post I was not holding the buttons down long enough past the point it says error. I don't have a check engine light on so when i press it it only says "diag" if i did have a code would it just show up in digits? or would i have to press something additional

Once it says DIAG you have to press the far right button (not near the car and have a bad memory but I think its M). Then it will wait for a second and cycle through the codes.
