(i need to take off my head to send to my machinist because i figured i might as well machine the one i have) so yeah, how is it done? let me know guys.

Pretty much just look for bolt holes close to where the head lifting points would be. One side is pretty good but the other is closer to the center of the block. I've only lifted a headless block from the floor to the engine stand and I imagine lifting the block + trans might be a little more challenging.

Why not just pull the whole thing before you send the head out?

Do you have any old stock head bolts, put some washers on them put the bolt through the chain and screw the old head bolt in to the block.
Cover the block with a towel to keep dirt out.

Actually, that's exactly how me and a buddy did it...head bolts w/ a couple thick washers on each side of the chain link. Worked well ;)

working on it eric ;). Hell you should come down on the 6th, i can provide you with food + shelter, and all you'd have to do is a little engine work for a couple of fun hours. Comon, i know you want to :naughty:
