Well i just finished up putting in my JDM motor and everything has been going good breaking it in. Then this morning when i went out to the car and started it a puff of smoke came out the exhaust. It dosent come out right away its about 2 seconds after its started but then no smoke afterwards. I can turn the car off and the start it back up and another puff of smoke will come out, then no more smoke. anyone else had a problem similar? any help is appreciated thanks

What color is the smoke. White I'm thinking..

I had this problem due to bad valve stem seals. That's just my thought.. however if you let the car run for a couple of minutes and then turn it off and start back up will it happen? Have you checked your plugs?

Now, I'm not going to be the one to jump to conclusions and scream ::bhg:: , however...

This was one piece of my bhg puzzle. The other thing that went along with it was the dreaded puddle of coolant under the car when I would park it after a good run, since the pressure would climb and it would belch out of the overflow. Not saying it's a bhg, but it might be time to keep an eye on other tell tale signs...

i agree. i dont think mine does it anymore after the BHG fix...but it used to smoke a tad bit after startup, especially if i tapped the throttle. but its cold where i live sometimes and ANY car will have some smoke...but mine was more than that. now it seems fine.

keep an eye out for BHG...catch it early if there is one and save $$$ on repairs.

metal HG? dont know from experiance but word is you need to deck the block for a metal gasket for proper sealing, my guess is you did that if you have an all metal gasket.
