Replaced my reservoir a few months back with a nice powder coated one, and used some kragen hose that I was assured would work fine.

Few nights ago I start it up and get a super whiny pump noise and the fluid level in the res is fine, but the hose I'm talking about was super pinched as if it was sucked in and it was wet on the outside, like completely coated in a fine film of atf.

So I'm almost cerrtain this is enough to keep the pump from getting enough fluid. I haven't really been driving it since I dont want the pump to burn out.

The red line in the attached picture indicates the hose that I'm talking about, I would like to know whether or not the hose in question is a formed hose that I need to buy from the dealership, or if I can just by some different hose from a parts store.

a part # would be ideal, thanks and happy holidays

you must of had a normal hose on there. a normal hose will just absorb the oil and make it so soft, it will just collapse, especially if there's vacuum. you need a hose that's meant for oils. most of them will say tranny cooler hose or oil cooler hose. i think driftmotion has some

hope that helps

its def in that diagram. look at the two hoses at the top. the one you want is the one going to the pump, 44348A. clicking on that number will bring up the part number.

btw the car in your sig is nice

silcone heater hose will work, thats what i'm running. it prolly felt like it was cover in atf cause thats what or ps takes and regular hose will just breakdown, swell and leak.

:umno: :slap:

Silicone heater hose has an outer barrier that is oil resistant. Although it will last longer than standard heater hose and wont suffer the same failure, it will fail. Any competent parts store will carry PS return hose in bulk or 1.5-2' lengths.

mines been good for month and a half of driving id say and still good. i was told by the hose tech at work it'll be fine.

i tryed to find the atf cooler line but i couldn't find it large enough, i think its like 19mm or somthing, i used 3/4inch.
