Since the pps uses the speed sensor on the speedometer if the speedo cable is broken will pps not work and therefore making ps not work?

The PPS computer will think you are not moving all the time. Should make for a lighter than usual feel to the steering.

His power steering completely went out. His speedometer cable is broken. Since the Progressive Power Steering works off a speed sensor on the gauge cluster he wants to know if that's what caused the steering to go out or if it's part of the problem. I think that sums up his overall question. Correct me if I'm wrong Bill

If the control wire breaks or is disconnected at the PS rack it will go full firm.
