Any idea how much weight that might save? I've been thinking of doing the same since I got a bulk pack of Xtreme on hand. It is thinner than stock.CTsupra said:i was thinking of dynamating every place in the car where the stock sound deadening is. after you remove it of course.
Even though the Dynamat Xtreme is about half the thickness of the stock material? Is the stock material less dense?Ckanderson said:^might not save any weight but it would make the car a lot quieter...
not to mention that the majority of the stock sound insulation separates from the sheetmetal of the car (ok, at least in the case of my car) and actually adds to the loudness problem by rattling.bwest said:yes. dynamat, vblock, brown bread - all that stuff is much denser than the stock carpet insulation. and it works better too.

Ckanderson said:You will probibly end up using more then stock. I did the doors on my supra. every exposed metal part got like 2 layers. Damn things sounded like a bank vault when I closed them.
I love that.
