What other heat barriers, besides stock, is recommended? I'd like to also be able to put it on the firewall, where the turbos/downpipe would be at.

Seen 'em use something on the MKIV drag cars and other hotrods...

i was thinking of dynamating every place in the car where the stock sound deadening is. after you remove it of course.
Any idea how much weight that might save? I've been thinking of doing the same since I got a bulk pack of Xtreme on hand. It is thinner than stock.

yes. dynamat, vblock, brown bread - all that stuff is much denser than the stock carpet insulation. and it works better too.

not to mention that the majority of the stock sound insulation separates from the sheetmetal of the car (ok, at least in the case of my car) and actually adds to the loudness problem by rattling.

Even though the Dynamat Xtreme is about half the thickness of the stock material? Is the stock material less dense?

You will probibly end up using more then stock. I did the doors on my supra. every exposed metal part got like 2 layers. Damn things sounded like a bank vault when I closed them.

I love that.

Ah, you answered my question before I was about to ask it...Did you actually get inside the door and apply the deadening, or just apply it behind the interior panel?

Everywhere.

Clean the paint before installing it.

It's amazing the difference.

Holy...

Come on, there is completely NO effort at all going in to spelling the names of these products correctly. It really is pathetic!
