The thing about the new Lexus GS450h D-4S system, is that one of the injectors is in the combustion chamber. The fuel is injected directly into the cylinder.
Thanks, I know the D-4S system setup and its benefits, but that doesn't change the risk IJ stated, i.e. "Creating an oxy torch that WILL burn through a piston during a hard pull, when one injector fails".
Maybe if it proofs itself in the future on the racetracks I'll reconsider it for a future projectcar.
And I fully agree with the point's IJ made. What I meant to point out was that this isn't a production car with two sets of injectors in the intake manifold. Some thing a lot of people that were reading this thread might not have known. The D-4 system is an amazing system, with a lot of potential, and the D-4S is just a variant of that.
Yes, you're right and it would take some serious customizing to realize that.
I was indeed aiming at the two sets of injectors in the intake manifold setup, unless the tuners would have come up with a good and financially sound proposal for the "real thing" like in the D-4S system.
But IJ convinced me with his argument to let it be (for now) :evil2:
