I had the apexi n1 prior to this exhaust, it had the stamp on the canister so i assumed it was apexi but i sold it a few weeks ago and got a different one now. The bumper was off a 88 parts car that was still in good shape, the front bumper i got the paint code from westco(sp?) auto paint supply and they ran the paint code and got it from there.

Looking good there! I like the progress of your build.

Do you live around Burien? I've seen your car around that area and I think its you? Plus I bought a used CT26 from someone on craigslist and they had the same color of supra..

Yeah, Im glad the turbo worked out well!

Updates as of 12/6/2012: Got my battery warranty exchanged @ Walmart as my old one started crapping out on me, still awaiting parts to come in the mail (fingers crossed that its not another BHG causing the misfire) and got my injectors back from the shop today after getting them flow-tested, cleaned, and replaced the pintle caps, filters and o-rings. Another confusing yet productive day, hopefully she is back up and running again soon.

And BTW, does anybody know around how much the R154 can cost to get rebuilt? Im looking into buying a stage 1 clutch kit as I can feel mine is slowly starting to go out, but at the same time since i am dropping the transmission might as well get it rebuilt because the 2nd and 3rd gear synchro's are grinding. Quite possibly looking into a lightweight flywheel and a one-piece driveshaft as well if the budget allows it :naughty:

^ Thanks, gonna be looking into that. But I have never tackled a transmission rebuild. if its not much different to get it sent out to a shop to rebuild plus warranty and cleaning, ill do that. if not, im in a lot of gear-work lol

Most of the shops around here will charge 300-800 to do the rebuild itself not including the parts. so your looking at 1k to get the transmission done in British Columbia. I think I am in the wrong business personally lol

Most manual transmissions aren't too hard and I am sure there is gonna be at least one person who has photographed the rebuild. If I end up doing one on mine since its under 300 bucks to rebuild it with new parts. I will take a video and speed it up for people to watch. Mainly you just need the clean large working space and to note where stuff came from. Pictures and notations speak a hundred words.

Dropped the transmission today and going to be swapping in a F1 Stage-1 clutch before she is brought back to life. Curious though, upon removal of the pilot bearing, the bearing shred into pieces and the outer ring was left in there and I dont know how to get it out does anyone have any suggestions as to how i can do that? Please do let me know, thank you

theres a method using paper and water. teat pieces of paper and soak it in water, and just keep stuffing them in there. eventually, the water from the paper should puch out the bearing. may have to use like a small screwdriver to push the paper in there if you cannot use your hands.
hope it works!

or go borrow a puller from an auto parts store. I helped a local guy pull his, we got the puller for free with a deposit. It was a shitty chinese puller but it worked with some effort.

Thanks guys, I tried the grease and hammering a socket into the hole, all that happened was the bearing crushed into pieces and the outer ring was left in place, although i was able to get a hold of a bearing puller from harbor freight and I hope that takes care of the issue. I got my upper gasket set, currently waiting for the head gasket to come in the mail from Driftmotion :D and then the clutch will be installed shortly after, keep you guys updated with pics

on a side note: can anybody confirm with me if i can just drop in the MHG without using a sealer? I've researched here and google and they said that the Titan MHG is already coated with some sort of coating to ensure sealing between the block and head and I just want to double check.

Heres a photo of where the cylinders leaked compression into each other, luckily it wasnt oil/coolant mixture, my gasket set arrived in the mail today. The set came with a replacement head gasket but no way thats going into the motor, thus I will be using the Titan MHG :evil2:

Thanks guys, I just finished up putting the motor back together, still minor things to touch up, old brittle harness sections cut off and resoldered new wiring and proper wire insulation, just need to redo the CPS connector now. Head surface was "near true" as the machine shop locally told me, the head came off a 7m motor that had 96k miles on it so Im assuming thats the reason why its not needing much taken off it. Clutch will be coming in a few days and while thats pending Im going to get the flywheel resurfaced and then she shall be running again soon!
