if you guys remember i was gonna do the 2J swap in my 86.5 but i just recently picked up a new body and this is where the Project begins!!!

Here's the pics of the new beast

its a 1988 turbo 5 speed shell, targa with 89 front bumper and 3 piece wing.

now for the interior

needs a little work and cleaning but its all good!!!!

and look its already ready for a swap!!!!

so there she is guys!!

i will be selling the 86.5 off with a stock JDM motor and with that i will be ordering my 2J and then the swap will begin!!!!

That's a clean looking shell you got there Reaper. Where are you planning on buying your 2jz from? I would love to do this swap as well, and have thought seriously about it, but I've heard it's way more expensive than the 1jz. Is the initial cost of the 2jz over the 1jz the biggest difference, or is the 2jz harder to get hooked up to the 7m harness? How much research have you did on this swap? Hopefully you'll keep us updated as much as possible. Maybe I can learn from your swap. Gotta love that negative rep you got there.................

Ladies and gentlemen i decided against the 2JZ swap i can't afford it right now and i just want to ENJOY MY CAR!!!

so i ordered my 1JZ engine set and i have the hydro fan setup coming to me soon, BIC mounts, exhaust piping is already at my house engine comes arrives in 5 days and i will be putting it all together in the next couple of weeks.

i will be posting pics along the way!!!

i got my engine!!!

That is a great looking motor. I've got a headstart on you already, but you may still have yours running before me. I've got a few bugs to work out on mine still. I'm going to order a new clutch today, and I've got to make me a downpipe, and fix my dump tube off of my wastegate. I'm hoping to try and install it this weekend, but I may not have my clutch yet. Good luck on your swap..................lol

well got the cam covers pulled off. bye bye 2500 twin turbo.....they were scratched up and missing paint in NOTICEABLE places so i repainted them last night. i started to remove the wiring harness. un bolted the intake mani to make it easier but it wouldn't come off due to some hoses and it was 11pm and my patience was running out so i called it a night

well got the wiring harness out last week we'll begin on the harness this weekend hopefully and i got the BIC mounts put on and the engine bay cleaned up i'll get more pics of the whole thing this weekend and post em up so stay tuned
