With the 89+ subframe all the clearances should be fine. I would asy then just to try and install it as an assembly. Trans attatched to the motor. Get someone under the car after you get it up on the stands, to guide the shifter extension housing, and just wiggle it little by little. If you are carefull you should be able to squeeze it.

awesome, thanks for the info. went to take the front clip out of my garage and down to the shop and the cherry picker froze outside by the time i got it home from the shop! hopefully i can get it out of there soon so i can park my truck in the garage! Another question for ya, how did you find the wiring? did you use the body connectors from the 7m or the 1j?

Nice thign about having the clip is you can just swap everything straight over. Shouldn't be too different; if you are talking about the front body harness, although if you can do the swap then do. Kind of a pain, but I would reccomend pulling the jdm and comparing it plug by plug to the 7m. I can't recall anyhting that is different.

If you want a really good turbo for low price you should look up holset turbos
they come on dodge diesel trucks, but something like an hy35 is basically a gt35r thats hella cheap.
they use t3 housings tho, so you would have to have a t3 manifold or get an adapter

Thats pretty sweet just looked into that. Know anywhere you can get one of these new or with really low mileage?

If it's stock on the Dodge trucks you can likely get them from places like ATS. That's one of the biggest and supposedly best Diesel tining shops in the country. They sell upgrade kits like hotcakes, so I wouldn't be suprised if they had old stoky turbos layin around. Just be carefull, they are huge jerks!(They are a Colorado company, so I unfortunately run into them alot in my travels)

I know how that goes. Money always stands in the way of my projects.

Even with the stock turbos I doubt you will be dissapointed. I am sure many of the guys here can tell you from more exerience than I have with them. Just keep the intake and exhaust open and use a good quality boost controller. Should be able to do like 300 to the wheels before the stockies fizzle out. From what I gather that motor has a lot in common with it's big brother so there's lots of little things you can do for pretty cheap in the mean time even with the stock turbos. Keep us posted. :)

Hello all, sorry for the long wait on getting a new post. Ive been waiting on a couple of parts to finish off my swap and was finally able to track them down and get them IN MY HAND!! I will post a couple new pics because as you know i have to pull the motor back out to get the transmission to clear. Anyways the motor is out now and in the short downtime we managed to get our hands on some new valvecover gaskets so we took those off and to my suprise it was remarkably clean inside. My actual reasoning for popping the covers off (as you can see in the pictures) was to paint them. In this time we have taken the opportunity to paint red some of the brackets and the valve covers and soon to be brake calipers. anyways here are the pics enjoi! :naughty:

Well as you can see from the pictures above we have gotten the motor with the tranny as 1 piece into my supra! Ive been waiting soo long for this I cant wait until the wiring is finished and I can start her up! Does anyone know what the Boost control sensor from my MA70 is used for? It was attached to the top of the left wheel well (in the engine bay) and looks like a silver heatsink from a computer? I cant find a matching one on my JZ clip or anywhere to plug it into on the 1J. Ill try to get a picture of it today when im down at the shop if my mechanic cant figure it out today! I will have to go pick up a couple more parts like a new intake and the rest of my exhaust (i only have a DP currently) Just woke up this morning to a fresh 3" of snow! Hopefully my diesel truck will start as it hasnt been plugged in all night! The next post will be pictures of the finishing touches. :naughty:

Well its been a long time coming. I drove the supra home from the shop for the first time in 6 months yesterday. And last night it started snowing! Anyways had some issues with the mechanic but luckly someone in my city (one of 3 people) was able to help me out and had her wired and running in 2 weeks flat. Anyways enough babbling here is a new pic and a video link...hope it works. Anyways Im just waiting on my new radiator and a couple finishing touches and she will be worth of the road again muhahaha!
Thanks for viewing
