Hey, searched but couldn't really find what I'm looking for. Just got the car back from BHG repair, now the vacuum line for the progressive power steering is draped over the block, the mechanic couldn't figure out where it went. I'm assuming it goes UNDER the block in the wiring harness or something.
Here's what it looks like now:

Does anyone have any pictures/detailed descrpitions of where this is routed? I'd like something really detailed to give him so he can put it back right. Esp if you could post a similar pic to the 2nd one, showing where it goes from the intake mani. Thanks so much!!

the complete vacum diagram sticker should be on your hood. Why couldn't he follow that.
Yeah, the sticker's there. IDK, its wired properly and all connected, but he couldn't figure out how to route it. And I'm pretty sure its NOT over the engine block (sure wasn't there before I took it in). So its all connected and works fine, I just want the hose where it belongs, which I don't know, and apparently neither does he.

chad, there is a hard line running in front. metal pipe. if you look at the intake mani, a hose should come up from there, connects to the hard line then goes to the left side with another hose to the steering pump.
The hard line is arund the timing cover area.

Thanks, I'll check that out and post a pic of what I think you're talking about after school, say around 3ish. So this hose should just follow that hard line then? Just draped or is it clipped or secured any ways? Thanks!

i have a hard line i dont need anymore. its easy to figure out. the tsrm has the routing for it. lmk if ya need it.
No, everything is there, connected right, and works fine. Its just that the hose is routed wrong. I read every page of the TSRM on the power steering, and could not find a good image of the actual routing in relation to the block. Thanks for the offer tho!

Ok, so the vac hose just runs right by it, that's not too hot for the hose?

PPS? Don't have but I thought it was solenoid controlled. Sure that's not the idle up line?
Nope, not sure at all. :) Thats just what he told me, I tried to follow it down the exhaust side and it went quite a ways down, I couldn't see termination.

Nah, the vac line you have now gets CUT, and one half slips over the metal hard line like a nipple, and on the other side it gets slipped over the nipple of the VSV and also to the metal hard line.

like brent said. hose connects to the hard line on one side of the engine, then on the other side ( power steering side) another piece of hose connects to the hardline and then to the pump. Hard line is part of your hose routing.

Wait, the hose can't be supposed to be cut and attached, it was always in one piece before! I don't think I follow. Anyway, here's a pic of where the hose heads down to, and a pic of it starting @ the intake mani. Could someone just circle where the hose should go, I got it wide enough you can see the rest of the block. Thanks.

I don't there is a vacuum hose for pps...the hose you are talking about is the p/s idle up line. Follow the hose that comes off of the bottom of the accordian hose...it goes to a valve, and then a hose comes from that, to a hardline that runs in front of the timing cover, over to the intake manifold.

Thanks guys! I looked at that forever, I think I was too tired to catch that it was the same line. Grrrrr......feeling retarded here. I'll show that to him, that should be it. I just don't get why there is sooo much hose, though, if its going such a short distance.....w/e...does anyone else thing he might have connected the wrong hose there? IDK.......
