Well, after replacing the Type R wastegate diaphram, thinking that was my problem with it not opening (and it looked worn out), gate still would not open. So I did a little thread search and found a suggestion to bypass the boost controller, so I did. Waste gate opens now. so what the hecks wrong with the controller??
I'm pretty sure that the controller NC connection is robbing the pressure to the wastegate bottom connection as they are "t" fitted together.
I plan to run a sepatate pressure line to the nc port and see what happens but that leads me to the question. Does the valve unit controll boost by robbing pressure from top connection of the wastegate or does it do it by restricting air vented from the bottom connection of the wastegate? Or both?
I took the valve unit apart and found a small amount of trash in it, but nothing looked worn. I would like to test it, but need to know if it is activated with 12 volts or does run on a separate lower volt system?
These valve units have three ports, a COM, a NO, and a NC. I had to switch the NO to the NC when I went to the single setup (greddy install manual). Shouldn't I plug off the NO port now that it isn't used or is that how the Valve unit breaths. There wasn't a plug in the NC port before I connected into it (could had fallen out and didn't see it). Greddy instructions are vague
