Problems with HID Retrofit Install

The rational is because aftermarket HIDs are illegal to retrofit to cars that did not come with them for the factory. They blind the crap out of people because they are very difficult to do correctly, but selfish people insist on doing it anyways.

I never said that HIDs were inherently bad, just that they aren't meant for retrofits. Big Brake kits, FFIs, etc. don't affect the people around you and are an improvement for your car. HIDs might illuminate more but are more than likely blinding oncoming traffic and might even make vision in rain and fog even worse than using the factory halogens.

ANYthing done wrong isnt worth doing, including what I mentioned. You dont think an improperly installed BBK can affect the people around you on the road?

It seems you natually assumed that a supra owner isnt capable of PROPERLY retrofitting a supra with HID's, and while I might be inclined to agree with you in many peoples case, not everyone is a complete boob with a screwdriver.

Making a blanket statement that a particular mod shouldnt be done just because it has the possibility of being done wrong is kind of short-sighted dont ya think? There are several people on this board who have done a good job retrofitting to HID's and their headlights are now FAR safer than the myriad of people running around using those plastic ebay housings. I bet if you took a poll I could tell you which group outnumbers the other.

absolutly.

if done right it is a great addition to your car. I have them on my benz, my bike, my lincoln, and all my parents cars. every on was done right so they dont blind oncoming drivers.

dont make such a blanket statement nocheez, as their are exceptions to every rule.

Well what is worse the inability to see at night with the stock lighting or the possibility of blinding an incoming driver?
