It came that time this year to bring the supra out of storage. I went to install the new optima battery specifically ordered for my car. Without thinking, I went to connect the battery. It ends up the battery wasnt the correct one, and the positive and negative were infact reversed. Well, pop goes the weasel. I looked at the fuses and I needed to replace the fusible link. I fixed that problem easily and had the battery sent back to recieve the correct one.
Everything is hooked up correctly and i am making good connection. When I try to start the car it turns over but doest start. My friends and I were confused with the problem. So far we have done the following.
Checked for spark (grounded the plugs and no spark). They were dry and didnt smell of fuel.
We thought it might be a problem with the ecu being fried, so we hooked up a 7mge ecu (onto my 7mgte) and once again tried to start it, and the same happened as with the original ecu.
I would like to be back on the road soon.
Any and all help would be appreciated.
Thank you
