pre 89 ???

Hey I m thinking of buying another MKIII however it’s a pre 89…. I have plans on striping the car down to make it a track car. My question is what do I need to do so that can I use the 89+ wire harness with that chassis? My goal is to use to the plug and play harness for the stinger and still have all the dash equipment working like factory.

Easy. Take all the parts you need and swap them to the pre-89. Body harness and engine harness. The headlight motors are different, too.

The wiring is different. The motor portion itself has a different wiring connection, and the whole unit uses a different plug than the 89+ motor. My 86.5 and 87 units definately wont plug into my 91 car. (I have an 86.5, and 87, and a 91 with another 91 coming later in the week.)

or get the wiring diagrams and pinouts? i have a gray plug wring harness running in an 87 original engine and yellow plug ecu
