Pre-89 Spoiler - Could use some photos

Hi all,

I got a hold of a pre-89 spoiler for my 87, I was wondering if I could get some pics of the installed studs from inside the hatch, also wanted to see if anyone has pics of the holes with no spoiler installed, from inside and out of the hatch. Just looking to head in the right direction with this spoiler install. Thanks.

Its pretty easy to line up and make your own template with some masking tape. I have done it several times on various cars.

you might as well go 89+ 3 piece wing..

looks better, only changes that need to be made is switch out the taillight failure sensor..

Yea, I was mainly just looking to get an idea of where the holes were going from the underside, I don't want to put the spoiler to far forward or back and have the center stud not line up with the hole on the underside.

I have seen a pre-89 with the 89+ 3 piece wing and I do like the way the pre-89 tails clash with the smooth 3 piece, but the 3 piece is not for me unless it came with it from the factory.

Normally I wouldn’t even consider putting a spoiler on any of my cars, even if it was a factory piece, but I got a heck of a deal on this spoiler so I couldn’t pass it up. Plus, I like Pre-89 stuff more. :icon_bigg

never knew you had to switch the sensor good to know.

My pre89 was moved a bit backwards. It looked a lot nicer so

Yea, I ended up accidentally putting the spoiler about 3/8" back, but I like the way it looks, nice and center other than the 3/8" discrepancy. I think it really made the car look more aggressive from the rear. Thanks for everyone's replies.

Yea, the stock pre-89 look isn't for everybody, thanks for the input though.:icon_bigg

Yea, pics of the holes from inside and out of the hatch, also laying a ruler or other measuring device on the outside from the window trim to get a rough idea on how far back it goes. Thanks.

I can't seem to find anything to measure with...I could use a Credit card lol let me look around here

NOt much of a fan of that spoiler makes the supra look OLDER i ended up take mines off and leaving it wingless and sold the spoiler for $100

ya I like the tails on either pre or post 89 but the pre 89 spoiler isn't for me lol. Even though I'd leave it wingless if it were a 89+ spoiler, wingless is just plain sexy.
