my reasoning for my mkIII...
I love the way the car sits, and how it looks. I was, and still am on a budget, and i got my car for a smokin deal. I was looking at first gen eclipses, 240sx's, rx7's, and camaros/firebirds, but i really wanted a supra because of their power potential, and i eventually want a mkiv. they are sexy! but i don't know if id rather have a viper, vette or supra. but id love an evo for a dd

i just read my thread and i pretty much name all performance cars. haha, oh well, i like just about everything, but i dont understand why car manufactures make cars so HEAVY. i wish they would all offer a bare bones model. not only would it be cheaper, but it would have higher performance, and its not like they would have to engineer anything. more like unengineer things.

What, you mean like a civic type-r? No a/c, no p/s, power nothing, basicly a dx with suspension and high powered motor. Actualy the first vipers were just like that LOL! I agree that would be nice but most companies want the "prestige" factor applied to their cars.

go watch when Top Gear looked for the perfect road...

one of them brought a stripped Aston Martin, and he HATED it.

If I wanted to go fast I could build any number of things, but I want to go fast IN STYLE and be able to take ladies for rides...

acctually jeremy clarkson's favorite car is the most stripped car you could ever get. an ariel atom. look it up. i love top gear, but jeremy pretty much hates the car if its made in america. he doesn't like the new dodge vipers, and he doesn't like the new z06. :| say it isn't so! how can you not like the new z06? titanium rods, dry sump 7.0 505 hp!?!?!!?!

Keep powersteering...

Some will say otherwise but I'll never understand it. It's only making things easier on you.

Ok, so maybe the parking lot is the only time you'll really need it alot. I don't know about you guys but I park my car everyday. :dunno:
until you change a motor in between rounds!!!

I don't know what show YOU'RE watching, but he liked BOTH cars...

He bitches about american safety crap and their inability to make a RHD car. But that's usually it... He didn't like the suspension on the new ZO6 around town either...

But overall he loves the cars because of their price and character.

The Ariel Atom is an insane machine that I hope to own one day, but he made the point that it's not a daily driver...

Keep it. Is there any real positives in taking it out?

lower weight, ridding yourself of a couple feet of hydrolic line. otherwise, not it doesn't help all that much. i know duane took his out because he wants the bling factor in his engine bay (needless to say hes accomplished) and he said he likes things kept simple.

One less thing to go wrong.

I removed PS from both the miata and the supra. I removed it from the miata to increase the feedback from the steering wheel.

I removed PS from the supra cause it had been leaking from somewhere and I was sick of hunting down the leak.

I am with a few people, I like my power windows but the more comforts you have the more things to break. With the age and condition of the supra, the less things to break and have to replace the better.

BTW driving the supra w/o PS is not bad, just don't try and turn the wheel without some movement.

Typical MK3 mentality. If it doesn't work right, just take it out instead of fixing it.

Well thank you.

I had already been driving the miata without PS and I would rather save up and replace the turbo that starting to get a death wine...let alone the clutch that suddenly stop work.

PS is not a must have it on my list, PW is...lol everyone has different taste is what they like and dislike. I perfer the feedback from a non-ps car vs a PS. Grant it, that comes more into play with the miata then the supra.

To the starter of this thread... if your car came without PS then just stay without PS, You'll need the pump, the lines and if Toy is like Maz then you need a PS rack also... I would rather put that money into the motor, or gauges..

It isn't SO hard to fix it (if it's in okay condition so to say), if not find a better one from the scrapyard and fix that. Mine was leaking (not very badly, quite normal laeking actually), but I found a better one and a guy fixed that easily (polished and put new bushings in) and now, it's fine ( though doesn't work as it's supposed to, but I think it's the rackdifference here, though dunno). And really, how much does the pump weigh? Jiiish....now that's an improvement. you can't remove the rack anyways...
