hey guys so i have a question about the power steering.

i bought a 350z while my supra was down and now that i got the supra i got used to the z'S stiff steering so when i go back to the supra, its just to......buterry, like its too sentavive and its annoying.

so my question is, what can i do to make it stiffer with getting rid of the power steering?

thanks in advance guys.

The first time I drove a 350z I almost went off the road cause I over compensated a drift...I was so used to my sloppy supra steering. After driving the z for a few days I got used to the quick and tight steering. I too would like to know if its possible. Ive checked all the common problems, inner/outer tire rod play, steering rack play/ball joints. But I just figured it came down to the design of the steering systems themselves. Maybe the z has a different gear ratio in the rack?

It's the design.

If you have pps power steering isn't even used At speed.

The ratio is how many turns lock to lock.

You can just unbolt the pump and all the lines and just loop the lines filled with fluid like I did. Its a bit hard to turn, but if all your previous cars had no power steering its all good.

The 350Z's front suspension has 2 lower ball joints. The geometry of how that works is what gives it such a strong return-to-center feel. The rack is faster in the Z, but not by much. Disconnecting the power steering in your Supra won't make any difference over about 25mph.

Lots of newer cars have the 2 ball joint setup: Lexus IS300, Audi uses it in the S3 though on the top. Unless you want to graft the front suspension from one of these onto your Supra, you're stuck.
