Power Steering Whine

The whining didn't change at all. Still noisy, still hard to turn.

The PS fluid that was in there before I changed it yesterday, was in there for who knows how long. Could've been a few years, or since the car was new. The PS fluid that came out today was somewhat dirty, but not nearly as bad as the first time.

Can the rack and pinion also contribute to this noise?

hey i had the same problem bro replaced my powersteering pump 3 times 2 used ones and finally a new one no luck ....well at the end it was my rack and pinon so yes its defenately your rack and pinon i replaced mine and and there was no more whine everything was back to normal good luck

It wasn't my rack and pinion. Turned out to be a pinched hose. The one going from the reservoir to the pump.
