----------EDIT-----------
problem repaired, just wanted to thank those who helped by giving advice and such.

-----/edit----

I just found a pretty bad leak in my power steering high-pressure line, one of the lines that runs to the rack from the pump. it slowly leaks unless i strain the pump at full lock, in which case there is a steady flow pumping out fluid...so i obviously need to address this problem ASAP!

problem is i'm not sure what part to start pricing. I'm looking at the TSRM and I'm not sure about it, if someone has experience with these parts any help would be appriciated.

Here is the TSRM/EPC picture. the hose is attached to the hose numbered 44410, but its not the section that bolts up to the rack, it's the section that's further up and bolts with that banjo fitting to the back of the pump. I put boxes around the numbers that i thought may be associated with the part but i think it's 44410

do i have to buy that WHOLE setup with the metal tubing and rubber hoses as one unit!?!? that seems like it would be SO expensive... I highlighted where the leak is coming from, both ends of the hose were wet and i saw fluid spewing from underneath the rubber guard over the actual hose, so the leak is somewhere in the red... I actually highlighted the hose guard notice that there is actually a hose running through it.

the car is my DD and I have school M-F. Just to mention the relative importance of this problem.

thanks for any help you can give!!

aaaand if someone could tell me the names of the good places to get decent deals on toyota parts. if anything i wanted to see how much they put the prices at

after market parts, if available, would be nice. or part numbers... its usually difficult to find parts with just the EPC numbers...

the best place to go for that hose is carquest if u can find one locally to you. i bought one from them when i had to replace my pressure hose because it leaked where u had colored in red. sorry, i dont remember the part number for it anymore. I bought mine for about 65.00

its fine, thanks a lot for the info! can you tell me what the part looked like? did it come with that set of 4 hoses and the metal connecting pipes or am i supposed to just replace the rubber hose parts? it doesnt look like i can disassemble it...

also, was there any brand you noticed on the box or anything like that? if not that's totally fine, mostly just curious encase it could help the search.

thanks again!

bump. going to try and get the part today i thought i'd see if anyone or akito would read and know what all I'll be getting, if its just the one hose or the clump of '4' hoses attached to the pre-bent metal pipes that bolt up...and if i need any extra fittings once i buy the hoses or if it comes with it.

as you can see in the pic above there are little pieces at one end with separate part numbers...and stuff like that so...yeah. just wondering. thanks in advance!

-----------EDIT------------

HOLY $%^&*() SHIT!! Toyota quoted me 370.25 for the whole assembly which he said only comes as a whole!! good grief:cry: so i'm going to check the other parts stores, kragen said 85..and i have one more to check.
but it looks like i need the whole setup...so this post is almost mute unless someone has other suggestions i'll be getting the whole 4-hose and two metal pipe setup.
so this question i'm leaving since it took effort to put together...ahaha. but yeah comments are still welcome.

--------/EDIT---------------

OK i went out and took some pictures of the setup, more detailed look revealed that the metal pipes are VERY long and that the setup is as long as the steering rack (crap). so i need help on the replacement part info.
here are pics, is the first hose pictured removable? i don't know how that clamp works i'm guessing that it's a permanently clamped fit? i'm not sure what to do, it would be convenient to just replace that hose but maybe you are supposed to do the whole thing new in one go?
here is the clamp on the leaking hose up close, notice the crimp marks

here is the hose further away to give it's location on the car, for those unaware. it's just above and behind the passenger side steering rack boot.

Here is a final pic showing why I'm asking about the replacement of this setup, notice the RED arrow points to a removable pinch clamp and the YELLOW points to the presumably permanent crimped clamp, which stumps me as they are right next to eachother.. so do i still remove the whole unit as a whole, 4 hoses and the two pre-bent metal pipes?

OK the search was eaiser than i thought... i got these quotes from local shops;

Powercraft brand 85.99 - kragen, but they'll beat any price by 5%, but i cant get it until monday = bad so its a nogo
Edle brand 75+tax - locally owned - will be in tomorrow.
Napa brand 59.99 - Napa (duh) will be in tomorrow.

so between "Edle" (spelling) and Napa, is there a better brand? I'm guessing no but i figured i'd ask just encase some brands suck in general.

OK i got it all fixed. total price - 60 dollars +/- a few dollars for the fluid during the flush and tax :D :D

but man the lower banjo fitting was a complete bitch getting on...i had to use vice grips lightly clamped to the metal on the base of the fitting to turn it so i could get the banjo fitting's bolt to thread into the PS rack....it took so many tries i felt like screaming.

thanks for the help everybody!!

could i see a pic of that hose routed????

Yeah sure thing man. May i ask why? it may help me get the best shots for your needs.

its not black either so its blatantly obvious that it's new and even more obvious where it goes. haha... :icon_bigg

so yeah just let me know and if i remember when i get home i'll make sure to snap some pics.

its a stock-type replacement as well....not braided or anything. so aside from some difficulty i had in terms of rotating the tip of the lower end so i could get the banjo fitting on correctly (it was slightly cockeyed and it was a real bitch to turn while cramming my hand up there to thread it) its just like OEM in shape.

just thought i'd throw that out there.
