power steering belt broke again

Have any of you guys had any trouble with your power steering belt. The belt first shredded about a month or so ago and I noticed there was an excessive amount of play in the pump. So, we got a new pump and belt and put it in; everything looked great. After several weeks, the belt broke again. The pulleys all seem to line up o.k., and the new pump does not have the play that the old one did. Has anyone had this issue? Thanks!

Is the tube brace on the adjuster bracket in place?
(Goes from the end to the block)

Also check your pulleys to see if they are OK. You could have one with a nick or something chewing up the belt. IJ is right about the brace it is left off sometimes by PO's and can cause not only the belt to go but also the pump.

I do not see any additional braces, can you give me a more specific desciption, or do you know where I can find a picture of it? If it's missing, the guy who had the car before may have removed it; some people just have no business working on cars.
