87 Turbo with power driver seat. I'm doing some autocrossing and track schools and the seat moves forward and backwark about 1/4 or 1/2 inch while driving (hard accel/braking). Needless to say it's a little distracting and I can't find anything broken or out of place on the seat or motors. Anyone else experienced this?

YES. i have this same thing, and its super annoying cause it screws with me under hard braking. Especially when im coming to a stoplight.... i've been far too busy to look into it.

Yep, got a different seat. Problem solved ;)

Seriously, told it was not worth the effort, the seat rails are worn out. One of those racing seats might be best because they are much lighter, as long as you don't care about the power options..

Don't care about the power option. I would prefer to keep the stock seat (it's in excellent condition), maybe I'll see if a manual seat rails will swap...thanks

Finally got around to pulling the seat to find the problem..cracked/broken/worn out plastic bushings. I have no idea where to get them, I bet you can't buy just the bushings.

The power motors and everything work fine. Anybody out there with a driver's side manual seat rack??? Or can I swap the seat rack from the passenger seat to driver seat?

Couldn't you replace just the rails then?

You could get a rack off of a rhd passenger seat. Or just an entire rhd passenger seat if you wanted to save weight.

I ended up disassembling the seat and replacing the worn out rubber bushings with garden hose rubber washers...krazy glued them to the white plastic bushings and no more freeplay!

find a good seat at the junkyard. pay your 2 bux to get in and pocket the bushings. i doubt they would even charge your for them if you went up to the window.

I know exactly how you feel. I can't find any mk3's anywhere near me. Though there are plenty of MK2's in salvage yards.
