Several questions:

-where is the best place to pick one up?
-what can I expect to pay for the ECU & software?
-Can it be bought without the Commander?
-anyone have experience with it?

I'm about to take my car on the road for several 1,000 - 2,000 mile trips, so I'm starting to get concerned about ECU failures. That's the last thing I need. I had planned on going with Emanage, but since the Power FC replaces the ECU, I'm leaning towards it. Is it safe to assume that spending extra money on the PFC will alleviate my fear of being stranded by a failed ECU?

I have no experience with it, but I have been thinking of getting one for quite some time. You can find a new JZA70 Power FC on ebay all the time for $1350 with commander.

I think it would totally alleviate your fears of a bad ECU. Just plug it in and go. From my understanding, it already has the base map programmed for the 1JZ so it's ready to go out of the box.

I saw those. From what I've read, it's best to tune it using their software, so I curious if I can find one without the commander. I haven't seen a place to buy the software from either. Can it be bought without the commander?

Then this is the way to go for me. It seems to be pretty powerful & flexible, plus I can ditch the stock ECU.

I don't think the software comes with the commander. You need an optional wire and the software is available on an austrailian site somewhere. I just heard it was crazy expensive, but once it's all done, it's just like any other standalone.

$1300 for everything used from ckanderson and i love it.

You might not be able to answer this, but is it a pain to set up, or can you plug it in & run it straight from the box? Also, how hard is it to adjust using the commander?
