poundage on radiator cap

alright thanks i thats what i have. my car keeps overheating and its pissen me off... i have changed the thermostate, flushed radiator, rebuilt fan clutch and coolant still comes out the of the resovoir tank.
and it is not a blown headgasket i have taken it to toyota and they comfirmed that.

Going 3lbs up on your cap is not gonna fix your problem.
Everyone with a good engine runs fine on the factory spec 13lb cap.
Air in the system can cause engine damaging hot spots, and push coolant over the cap. Check in the FAQS section for info on 'burbing the system.
Do a 'block test' to determine if the BHG is starting to develop.
Another area (although rare) is the water pump impellor may be damaged, so coolant does not flow sufficiently.

i love how he's so sure its not a bhg.. the entire staff at the dealer didnt look at it. could still be miss diagnosed. start your car up while its cold with rad full to the brim and cap off. if coolant spits out of the top ..well . you know

I just bought a new 16 pound radiator cap today, because while I was dynoing I had coolant bubble out of my radiator. Please don't anyone tell me I have a blown headgasket, cause I've got my fingers in my ears and I'm not listening................lol

I'll 'fess up. When I first got into cars...I was around a bunch of guys looking at a motor of some Eclipse and someone said something about the car being a little retarded...I was trying to pay attention and be serious but I just started laughing so hard...and I felt like a dummy. :nono:
