C'mon guys, lessee some roadtip pics! Let us know where you went, what kind of issues your sup had, and let us know if you spotted any other sups along the way.
I'll start. We (me, the BF and the Sup) hit Gatlinburg over the weekend. We went up to Cades Cove. Here's a pic at the visitor's center:
Since the BF was driving, I got to play around with the camera. Another shot at the Cove:
Heading back to Gatlinburg, I took this shot:
We stopped and checked out some delapidated vacation cabins:
We took the road from Gatlinburg up to Newfound Pass on the TN/NC line (elev 5,000+ feet). Here's some pics from that road:
Stopped to check out some falls along the roadway:
Made it to the top, saw steam coming out from under the hood :3d_frown:
Here is the "action" shot that you are all very familiar with:
We let the car cool down for about an hour and a half. Went back down the mountain with the car in neutral the entire way (about 15 miles?).
So the car overheated on me for the first time ever. First incident occurred arriving in Pigeon Forge. Low coolant and puddle while sitting in the parking lot of the muscle car museum. (personal observation - car barfed upon seeing a place dedicated to domestics!) Reservoir was empty. Filled it up. Ran fine until we made the run up to the gap (5,000 ft) the next day. Ran hot, was steamy and boiling once we made it to the top. Again, lost some coolant from somewhere below the thermostat housing. Not sure if the thermostat is sticking, or if such a hill is too much for the stock radiator. Suggestions?
I was commenting to the BF Saturday evening that I had not seen any other Supras, and low and behold, a white MKIV passes us like 30 seconds later. But that was it for Supra sightings. Saw 2 new camaros and 3 new challengers. And a rare Kharmann Ghia.
Overall, good trip.
