Well I know this probably wont make you feel any better about the millage on your potential car, I rolled back the odometer from 189k to 36k on my old 89T. It just made me feel batter when I looked at the odometer to see suck low millage. The odometer worked perfectly afterwards and still does. And of course I made it very clear the actual millage of the car and told the buyer what I did. And of by the way, the numbers still lined up normally after being changed. They actually looked a little weird before I did any thing.

Meh, no big deal. After all each time someone here admits to yanking emissions equipment off they're doing the same thing. You violated USC 49, Chapter 325, Section 32703 (2):

"A person may not disconnect, reset, alter, or have disconnected, reset, or altered, an odometer of any motor vehicle intending to change the mileage registered by the odometer."

I suspect the Feds are en route to your location as we speak. Better get one of those tiny low rider steering wheels so you can drive with cuffs on ;)

Funny but some Toyota service training manuals have detailed instructions and pictures on rolling odos back. The one I have is quite explicit.

i only messed with it for about 20 minutes...but i dont see how you can roll it back without breaking it OR having it completely apart to the point of not being able to reassemble it to actually use....

~5 minutes to ''roll back'' and no traces left. :icon_razz I had to, cause I changed clusters and the ''newer'' one had 10k more than the previous one:)

Man this is from back in the day.

I ended up not getting the car. The guy wouldn't budge on the price even after finding tons of shit wrong with the car that he "forgot to tell me about".

Just for shits and giggles, what were the things he "forgot'?
