well my car had a BHG and i just got it fixed but the gauge doesn't show much psi change until i get into high rpms. it could be a boost leak because the mechanic probably didn't tighten up all the clamps as much as needed. but my question is could the cats get clogged from running the car with a BHG

your rpm's... how high is high? the CT won't spool till like 2.5-3k usually.

is there black smoke coming out of your exhaust? how is the idle? Why dont you check the clamps and find out if there is one? Also how many miles are on that cat?

it idles at about 1000. i had to replace the valve cover gaskets so all the intake hoses are pretty much off the car the engine has about 60,000 but the cat has around 150,000. i had to take it to a shop because the guy that replaced the head gasket couldn't figure out the CPS. when i got the car back the guy said it would run rough for a while until the ECU relearns itself. my dad followed me home and said it had a little black smoke but it may have went away im not sure

thats a good start for your problem. Fix that stuff and see what happens.

i saw somewhere that a clooged cat can mess things up. hopefully i can get the car running in the next few days. i will have full 3" exhaust by the end of next week so i guess ill have to wait and see.

a clogged cat will cause very late spool and power loss, especially at higher loads. in later stages it will cause a gas (kinda like kerosene) smell in the cabin...massive power loss...and i would be surprised if you could get your turbo to spool at all. also your downpipe, turbo housing and manifold could begin to get red hot. also you may see idle problems (usually a lower idle and stalling issues) and possibly a unsteady idle.

well i did notice the gas smell. all the symptoms so said pretty much match what happened i never checked to see if the exhaust got hot though and it did have an unsteady idle i should have the car running in the next few days so i will have to check
