possible boost leak and how to test for it.

i have an 88 turbo supra with upgrade turbo and whatnot and it starts to pull good at like 3500-4000 in 1st feels smooth and in the rest of the gears but in 2nd it feels like its pulling then partially stops a little then pulls again. like a studder a few times in the gear. It may be just that its most noticeable in this gear and it might be in the higher gears but i jsut cant tell as much. Idk what do you guys think? also how would i test for it.
