Popped a Cherry lol

Ran the car lastnight at The Rock, NC.
I'm 17 and this was my first time ever. I stagged and everything on my own. It was fun. I only have a 3" short ram intake w/ K&N 3" filter and some slight weight reduction (my spare tire and tool kit). The whole purpose of this run was to see what I'm working with and to get a baseline.

I'm the 07 car of course and 15 was a foxbody stang.

My car will get faster SOON! but first I want to figure out the ACIS problem I'm having and get my powersteering back.

I think those are a little slower than stock, but it was your first trip out. I can't believe how awful his 60' times were, and that's not a bad 1/8 mile for a mustang if it wasn't built.

Keep practicing and keep upgrading your car. Good luck. I went last night as well, and broke my transmission.

It's an N/A Jay.........and a really nice one. A couple more trips down the track, and you will see driver improvement. start releasing the clutch as the last light before green. That will help your reaction time, and you shouldn't red light if the light runs right.

*****EDIT***** I want to see pics of that 67 mustang. My first car was a 67, about 25 years ago. Damn, I'm just realizing that a 41 year old car!

Don't anticipate the last amber light, react to it. As soon as you see that last amber light up, take off. In the time it takes for your eyes to see it, your feet to move, the car to move forward enough to break the beam, should take about a half second. Which is what the lights should be set apart. When you get good at your reaction times, you can start deep staging.

It's addicting isn't it?:evil2: I haven't been down the track in a few years. I got tired of breaking stuff. But it was sure fun.

Is that a glh omni in your pic supaman?

thats my brothers its a work in progress but its a very fun car. i think his best run was a 10.99 (that same run i was pulling a fender on him at the top of 2nd when i went for third i got too excited and missed it :( ) its all original besides the straight pipe exhaust and the mbc turned up to 15 psi.

I have raced them before ours was the glhs with stage two turbo and computer. it was a mean little thing. It looked so funny at the strip it ran a low 12. if he need parts for it we have 2 of them that are just sitting around. plus abit of aftermarket stuff.

Thanks everyone and yes I will post some pics of the 67'. It's a father son project car. We just got done doing a front drum to disc brake conversion on it and we went to go put the stock rims on and dang it the stupid rims won't fit!

I won't be able to run my car again until I atleast have a new clutch because I still have the stock 17 year old clutch and this is my ride to school.

I've heard bout the trick with releasing the clutch right before the green light, I was going to but I'm trying to not launch real hard because again I don't know how strong our clutches are stock.

I'll keep yall updated on both cars and the builds.
The 91' will be going NA-T after i address a few things like a clutch/flywheel combo, dual electric fan setup, etc.
