Well saturday night I was out for a drive in the Supra. Just enjoying the view along the beach. Well a very confident 04 stang GT comes up besides me acting like the wants to play!! I'm cruising with him revving in my left ear and i see a light up ahead hoping it'll turn red. Well as it starts turning he floors it and ends up running the light as I stopped. Well I figured d@mn that would have been fun to put ANOTHER stang in its place.
Well as I sat at the light a silver GTO pulls up next to me and I look over at my gf and tell her ya know this thing might get me because all I'm running right now is intake, exhaust, bov... I was hoping he would run it just to see how bad he would get me!
LIGHT turns green and me as usual starts off slow and so does he and I'm just waiting for him to get on it! BAM there he goes he gets the jump and I quicky get in it! Top of 1st im at the back of his door then 2nd I get dead even granted he misshifted but quickly recovered and top of 2nd I pull about a foot then I slam 3rd the happy gear and he's falling good car back and I look in my rear view and see he is slowly creeping up on me and I look at my tack and I've noticed I'm getting out of my power band a few rpms from redline then I shove it into 4th and pull another half car on him then he shuts down.
Afterwards he was real cool I came up behind a slow moving van and he let me over and followed me to a local hang out right on the beach. Shook my hand and introduced himself. Asked what I had done and I kindly told him besides a built motor performance wise just intake and exhaust. He was cool about it replied "I'm proud to say I got beat by a supra than some honda POS!" I was happy for the night and just watched others race along the beach!
I don't know which year GTO it was but I'm thinking 05 because it had hood scoops and it had to be the ls1 350hp cause I'm sure if it was the ls2 he would have left me sittin. I shouldn't have even pushed my car for the simple fact that I have a blown rear strut and wheel hop is just stupid on that one side but I was eager to see how well the supra went up agianst something with 350hp but the only thing that we both had in common was the fact both our cars are heavy GTO's are in the 3800 area!
Good run all together and I'm satisfied but as of now the supra sits untill I fix the strut! Thanks all!
