poll: normal or tuned ecu?

Dyno'd my 1jz today, and got 297hp/285tq. This is with just intake, downpipe, test pipe, and exhaust. I'm being told my numbers are such that i may have a tuned ecu in the car. I'll check tomorrow, but i thought it might be an interesting discussion to see what people say about this.

Sounds like something has been done to your engine...Probably a tuned ECU.

i say it sounds pretty normal for a strong HEALTHY motor

my car has smoking twins and i beat my friends 1J who has good twins, 550's, walbro, and 2J cams in his on the same boost level i pull away from him

it's probably that you have a good strong engine. There was a thread a while back with people dyno'ing there stock 1J's and seeing number just like that with the same mods.

You could always take your ECU out and have a look inside. If it is altered it will be quite obvious

why would you say that, With those mods i pull 0.9bar usually on my car with a stock ECU

10 psi.. ~ .7bar

stock boost is 10-11 psi

with my EBC off it hits 11.3

IF your running a 5spd tranny car. That's normal.

If your automatic, it's a tuned ecu.

Also stan... Why arey ou asking if your ECU is tuned? Didn't you take a look at it before putting it in?

If your ECU is tuned, you won't need a fuel or MPH cut device to go over 110mph or 14psi.
