I am beyond the point of composure right now. I have an upgraded 60 trim CT that has been sent back for repairs 3 times and now needs to go back again. The last 2 times I only had the turbo on the car for 3-4 days..

I have done fresh oil and filter changes, Prime the turbo properly, use custom oil and drail lines made by the company who built the turbo. I don't use RTV for gaskets.

The turbo smokes like crazy and has side shaft play but no in/out.

What the hell could I be doing wrong?

Any Ideas?

I am so pissed off and I am sure the builder is probably just as aggrevated.

The turbo feed line is -4 and drain a -10. Fully built motor new oil pump etc..

Whatever is done with this 60 trim, it WILL NOT be installed on my car again. I just met a MR2 owner the other night at one of our local meet-ups and he works for Honeywell :naughty:

IJ. Are you saying I should crank the car and let the oil feed line pump into a bucket?

FYI. I always bolt the old 150K mile stock ct back on using the same feed and return lines without issues.

Your drain line outlet on the turbo must point straight down. Your feed line may need a restrictor.
Listen to IJ he wont steer you wrong.

but how come 99% of the ct-26 that are rebuilt dont use oil restrictors? i can see his point... but my bet is on craftsmanship.

Dude seriously just STFU in Tech threads!

Go sit in the corner with your pointy hat on and listen maybe you'll learn something.

NO ONE said shit about restrictors.

I'm trying to diagnose the problem not jump all over the place pulling guesses out of my arse.

IJ, Should I just disconnect the drain from the block, start the car and catch the oil in a bucket? Or pull the feed line off of the turbo and catch the oil that way?

At this point I want to test all I can that could be the cause.

Thanks,
Matt
