my friend's Eclipse was pimped out, with the genuine Bomex kit, Volks, and that crazy blue/orange paint job..
That show was the biggest scam, I can not believe they pimped that kids car... I have never seen such BLATANT self abuse to a car to get sympathy... Dont tell me that kid didnt fuck his car up on purpose and stage it too look shittier than it was... He took a friggin GRINDER to the side of his car... You dont accidentally run a grinder up and down and all over your quarter panel... That was so staged... MOST of the cars on that show are beaters... That kids car, wasnt a beater until he made it one... Running the lip into curbs on purpose, probably jumped out grabbed it and yanked it to make it worse... I was like, this is soooooo effin lame... If I was the producer, I would've looked at that car and told him, sorry, not gunna use your car...

Anyway, good for him though, he got a pimped out ride you can see from space... :D:D:D

The one that REALLY pissed me off was the girl with the Toyota Land cruiser that they really did a sweet job on, and she said her bf moved her to cali, then dumped her and left her with this POS Landcruiser... They did an awesome job, probably one of my favorite "pimp" jobs... *the stuff on it was mostly functional, and I would have drove it... Then about 3 months after the show aired, the Landcruiser was on ebay, being sold by the girl? nope... He "ex" boyfriend... PIECE OF SHIT! So you get your hottie lil gf to suck up to Mtv to pimp your beater, then you sell it for 30k... You suck...

*today was a bad day, Im gunna go now, maybe, hmmm*

Here is what gets me. They choose these ungrateful punks who wreck their cars more often than IJ posts, ;) and leave trash and food and all sorts of nastiness in their cars for who knows how long. And when they try to fix something, they ghetto rig whatever is broken. "Oh my poor car, it is soo embarrassing, I have to wear a poncho so I don't get wet:cry: , My targa used to leak also, did anyone see me rollin with a freakin poncho or goggles, no. I took the time, and fixed it right. These morons who expect something for nothing are 98% responsible for the way their cars look and run. Why would someone want to put so much time, money, and effort into something that will be neglected and put back into the shape it was in beforehand?

Thats my opinion, and I could be wrong.

hey, there was ONE episode that I thought was pretty cool...

it was the damn POS ford that was like 2 cars put together and not safe at all, and it was the only family car (look at the house, it's obvious).

they junked it and got him an xB and pimped it a bit... other than that they do some horrible shit...

overhaulin is pissing me off a lot too. it was about helping people out, not about redoing a person's car that could actually afford to do it (like lance armstrong, ect)

Didnt they do Nick Leshay's brother's car? *sp: I dunno how to spell Lashay, lol* That was pretty gay... You got 50 million bucks, buy your friggin bro a car you slacker!

Poodles, that episode was great, that kid was TOTALLY greatful! You can tell when people are sincere and that kid really was... He really deserved it... I always said that if I hit the lotto, I would do stuff like that... Like find people who are truly in need, like single moms or kids who take care of ill parents or siblings and just hand them the keys to a brand new car... Not a porche or benz, but like a nice minivan or something that they could really use to help get thier loved ones around... Just to see them react like that kid did, so enthusiastically would be an incredible feeling...

Speaking of lotto: Oprah Winfrey earns an estimated $260,000,000 a year... :)

I always wondered aobut the process, like: they show the owner showcasing thier pos and pointing out everything wrong... Then X to dah Z shows up and he walks around the car and says Ima bout tuh leddem no, I here to pimp day ride! Then they open the door and go nuts...

So if Mtv is there, then they would know thier car is about to get pimped... Or does X come, then they show the owner, and just reverse edit the film? I dunno...

Aside from the very first season, all of the door opening sequences are staged. MTV Rents out locations to film at. If you look closely, ou'll notice the houses are empty.

That makes sense, cuz all the houses are nice... And what would they do if X knocked on the door, and no one was home?

Mom answers the door: Oh Jimmy, he stayed the night at his friend Franky's house...

X: oh shiznit!

X would probably pimp Jimmy's mom in that case.

I thought the MTV execs tell the family that some producers are going to stop by for some followup interview and footage, but instead it's X to the Z. That's why the car's out on the street instead of in a garage or two blocks away.

I believe X does his smack talking after they meet the family but film it so that it looks like he does it before he meets them.
