Hi guys,

I have a question here about my 1JZ-GTE JZA70.

My car has not been driven for about two weeks now.Last night I pick up the car and drive around about 20KM or so.Left the car for about an hour an took it for a ride again..

Problem is that a white smoke appeared.Not on idle and acceleration,but when I dropping the gear,from 5th to 4th,and from 4th down to 3rd.The engines feels great and the downshifting is linear and smooth.But my friend said that he noticed white smoke coming out.

My questions is ;

Is is because the car has not been driven for a period of time that might caused that? My check engine light is ON

Is it my turbo?what do you guys think it will be?

Engine and boost is stock though.

Thank you so much.

I will check for the intercooler piping later,anyway..do you think turbos oil seal or valve seals trigger the engine light ON?

Check the CEL & Post back, i would say valve stem seals are going. I had that issue with my car when i finished my 1J swap, i ended up fixing the stem seals going 1.5JZ no issues with smoke now

I will check and find out the the CEL is on as you guys suggested.ASAP.

As for the questions,if its typically turbo seals,how much does it cost for a repair and what kind of replacement do it need.I'm running twin stock turbo.

Also I noticed an unpleasant smell coming out from an exhaust on idle ,it's not a white,blue or black smoke though,but kindda strong smell,and I don't like it.What now?

Thank you.

Do you have a cat? If not then i would say its just the smell of gas and air n a lil oil burning... but not 100% sure. I find that the vavle stem seals go before the turbos. I drove my car hard all the time and my seals were bad not my turbo's
