Please don't kill me this is a real "JDM" question

I jsut picked up a used 7M turbo motor JDM from an importer in jersey today. Looked it over good, pulled plugs yada yada yada ( not my first rodeo with used engines) The issue I am looking at now, the motor as said is from japan, no egr and all that happy horse crap, so I'm not sure if an american ECU will work right. Also the motor came with the full underhood and engine harness along with the ECU. My main problem, is the motor came out of an auto car. I will be using my R154 again, no auto. Is this doable on the JDM ecu, or what is needed to be done?

I searched a little to no avail, so I'm just posting here quick. Again, please don't hate me for asking JDM question, i'm just not sure.

On a haha side, as I was driving back from jersey( in a 4cy 5sp dodge dakota 2WD) this acura integra fully riced pulls up beside me after staring in the bed at the motor, and asks me what it is. I tell him it's a supra engine and his eyes got big, started druling a little. So before the light changed green i said " Oh yea it's straigh outta japan!" He looked like he just creamed himself and missed his chance to speed away from a green light trying to "race" somebody :biglaugh:

I don't really see the whole JDM thing, so long as my car gets up and running again, that's all that matters. Thanks to all

You can use the Auto ECU for the 5-speed, but not the other way around. I'm not sure if there is anything needed to do so though. If you leave the motor without an EGR, you will need to keep the JDM ECU. Otherwise, you could go EGR, but you'd want the domestic ECU with it. Your JDM ECU is worth a good bit more to those who wish to run without the EGR.

Ummm......Where is Ephrata?

Why not just swap egr to the jdm engine. And to not worry about 5spd ecus or not, keep your stock 5spd ecu and harness that is already in the car. All you are doing is swapping the engine. So simpliest way is to swap the egr.....and call it a day.

I would like to use my US ECU, but the harness I have for it is a bit trashed. So If i can use an auto ECU, I'll do what I need. If i were to go onto AllData and get an ECU pinout diagram for an 87 auto turbo, would there be any diff between the japan ecu and the US?
